Our Mission is to provide a business simulation model, infused with technology and real-word application in an educational setting, that will foster and support an environment in which traditional business students and special needs students will work in partnership gaining skill sets to help them transition out of high school and into a career pathway that they have chosen.
Our Team
Debbie Fawcett - Director
Having grown up in the Santiam Canyon, Debbie Fawcett has become an advocate in the advancement of educational opportunities for students from all walks of life, and at all stages of life. She graduated from George Fox College with a degree in Human Resources Management and Western Oregon University with a Masters degree in Teaching. She is currently a Business Education Instructor at Santiam High School and an Adjunct Professor at Chemeketa Community College.

Marlene Hirons - Board of Directors
Marlene is a retired business owner who co-owned Mad Creek Logging with her husband Tom Hirons. She then started her own business, Santiam Video, and owned and operated it for over 30 years. Marlene has a deep love of reading and history, and she believes that it’s never too late to start learning new things.
Ryan Hasvold - Board of Directors
Ryan graduated Cum Laude from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He currently works for Google as a Finance Project Manager, managing payments technology in Sunnyvale, CA.
Ryan has a passion for working at the intersection of business and technology, which is ideal for both his work at Google and his contribution to Switch Back. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys competitive rowing, beach volleyball, and generally being outdoors. He looks forward to helping grow Switch Back and seeing its mission succeed.

Courtney Hasvold - Board of Directors
Courtney graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Communication and a minor in Business Management. She is currently completing her teaching credential and plans on teaching elementary school.
Courtney’s passion for helping people with disabilities stems from both personal and professional experience. Her younger sister has had developmental disabilities since the age of two, and Courtney has aided in her development ever since. Additionally, she turned her passion into a job when she worked at Home Life, assisting with elderly adults with disabilities. Courtney would love to play a role in growing and developing Switch Back into a thriving force for youth development.
